To our customers:
Today at 3:30 pm, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a food safety advisory, notifying consumers to not eat romaine lettuce in any form.
Retailers and restaurants are advised to not serve or sell any types of romaine lettuce, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and packages of pre-cut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad shipped from Salinas, CA growing region until further notice from the CDC.
Food safety is of paramount importance to our suppliers and to our company. Effective immediately, we will NOT ship any romaine products from the Salinas, CA area. All of our Romaine products will be shipped from areas not implicated in the advisory. We are committed to order fulfillment and we do not anticipate any business disruptions at this time. Please contact your sales representatives for product alternatives if needed.
If you have questions, please contact our Food Safety Department Director Terreca Bates-Wells at (225) 408-3524 or by email at tbates-wells@ccpfresh.com.The detailed CDC advisory can be read at CDC Romaine Advisory.
