Capitol City Produce is a family owned and operated wholesale produce distributor, located at 1-12 and O'Neal lane in Baton Rouge. We deliver fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables to restaurants, schools, hotels and numerous other food service establishments. Our delivery area encompasses a 200 miles radius of the Baton Rouge area.

What’s this position about?

The Night Operations at Capitol City Produce is the Shipping shift where all customer orders are selected, palletized, and loaded onto the Capitol City Produce trucks in critical time frames. The Night Floor Lead would take on the responsibilities of coordinating the counting, processing, inspecting, and replenishing of product by the warehouse team to ensure a smooth and consistent operation to satisfy customer requirements. The Night Floor Lead supports the Night Order Selector team by assisting them with any issues regarding location of product or product letdowns, checking the accuracy of their orders, and communicating all procedures and/or changes to the Selection team. The ideal candidate should be able to get along with others and have good communication skills, verbal and email.

What about the qualifications?

- At least two (2) or more years of experience in receiving or shipping in a warehouse distribution environment

- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including but not limited to forklift, ride-on pallet jack, voice headset sytem
- Possesses basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of receiving, warehouse and material handling

Our warehouse facility is temperature-controlled at all times ranging between -5 degrees to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. No worries - you are able to wear multiple layers to help with the cold temperatures!

This position also requires the following:

- Walking and standing in a consistent temperature of 34 degrees as well as a below zero degrees cooler

- Use of the following tools and equipment: forklift, electric pallet jack, four wfourwheeled cart, 10 step ladder,

clipboard, pens, paperwork, invoices, produce, boxes, produce bags, broom, and stand up dust pan.



Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from zero in the coolers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
